So it could be 34067 running with George Stephenson nameplates or 44767 running with Tangmere nameplates.....

98767 is Tangmere's TOP's number, so looking promising.

FWIW 98567 is 44767's.

I never knew how TOP's numbers were established for steam (bar the last 2 digits) so this was quite interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_98

 

For future reference:

98 - Steam TOPS class. 7 - BR Power Class 67- Last two digits of running number (unless taken)

E.g. 98872 is Flying Scotsman, 98812 is British India Line

List seems pretty comprehension.

 

In the WIBN category test goes well and it is tucked inside BIL on the CME on Saturday, (just joking of course!)

 

Railcam data shows 34067 on 5M51. Nothing on RTT etc. but that is not unusual for anything out of 10A.

 

Video knocking around of something in steam behind Tornado (which is visible) on shed at 10A....

Apologies for the thread drift. The RCTS list begins "The following numbers have been issued by the Rolling Stock Library (RSL) for privately owned steam locomotives." It appears that 600 Gordon apparently didn't get a TOPS number despite going on the main line on several occasions including to and from Bold Colliery in steam in 1980. Was that because it was still technically an Army locomotive at the time and therefore not privately owned, or is it missing from both lists?

 

I can neither confirm nor deny that they have appointed a new pontiff for the independent state of Carnforth and North Lancs.

 

Attached is a copy of the list I took off TOPS 2 years ago. Some surprises.

Especially noting that 60103 / 4472 is classified 8P when BR classified it 7P6F; suggestions of "modifications" perchance ?

 

RTT now showing 5M51 in platform 2 at 10A .

 

As theres been no photographs as yet, the fault was not with the cloaking devise that Mr Smith got from that dodgy Klingon trader
