Terrier Waddon

Interesting article in this month's Steam Railway about the Canadian Railroad Historical Association's decision to review its collection of non Canadian rolling stock. It is early days, and putting the A4 aside for the time being, I wonder what conversations are happening at Sheffield Park, Tenterden, Haven Street and elsewhere to formulate possible plans. to what is a very attractive locomotive, even by Terrier standards.

 

A member of this forum @Owd Sweedy led the cosmetic restoration of Waddon a few years ago. His account, and some great photos, are in this thread.

Given that Peter (Old Sweedy) and his team restored Waddon only 5 years ago over a preceding 2 year period, and the loco has a team quite enamoured of it, I would have thought Waddon's repatriation to the UK is somewhat premature.

Surely she'll join the Icons of Steam fleet?

All the main line electrics will surely fit in the toolbox behind the bunker- already air braked, should have a gauging profile that would allow it to fit pretty much anywhere on the network?

Perfect surely?
