4936 Passed Water Orton on time this morning, thanks to whoever put the reporting number on the smokebox, really adds interest to an otherwise plain smokebox door: http://david1984.fotopic.net/p59656941.html

Sorry to report that there were more than the usual number of idiots lineside between Lincoln and Nottingham on the return run. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
I won't go into details here. I just made sure I ruined most of their shots by waving my Hi Vis as we passed.
Hopefully the more sensible members of this forum will approve of my actions.

Had a great day in Lincoln,8 hours in Lincoln was not too bad in reality,it was still too long but we made the most of it,Pics later if i ever get the internet to work fully.

Haha. Thats not a bad idea upseting the idiots by hurling unwanted fruit at them or waving hi-vis jackets. Nice one lads they definitely deserve it!

It just infuriates me that people just throw caution to the wind just to get that better pic or vid, when instead they are putting their own safety at risk along with giving steam enthusiasts a bad name. Great shame but they just dont think like the majority of us do they!

Sounds overall that the trip was pretty good. What was the top speed you reached in the day?

Before people think I'm anti linesiders please read what I had to say here......viewtopic.php?f=36&t=20334&start=30
I doubt that the ones we saw on Saturday were regular linesiders, two examples being a woman standing within a few feet of our line just to wave as we passed, it took a long blast of the whistle to get her to move back. The other was a man standing in the opposite four foot with his back to the direction of travel. ](*,) ](*,)
Hardly the behaviour of regulars that understand the dangers of the railway.
