At present the roster for the 20th is ME, Lyd, and 138.

Many more toys come out to play over Easter.

    Regards

Around 1100, 138 takes the great and the good from Harbour to PC where ME is waiting for a banner-breaking photo op, then procedes to Beddgelert for lunch, after which they have the choice of continuing to Caernarfon or returning to Port behind Lyd before a trip up to TyB with ME for tea and buns, arriving back at Harbour just before 138.

Why? It was the terminus last year and the railway has been reopened in stages from the Caernarfon end - Dinas, Waunfawr, Rhyd Ddu, Beddgelert, Hafod y Llyn, Pont Croesor and now Port. Speeches and the unveiling of a Llechwedd slate milestone (that we brought down from Blaenau by rail on Thursday) at Harbour immediately precede the departure of the train for PC and beyond.

I, on the other hand, wonder why every word in your post is capitalised...

But surely this isn't just opening 'another' stage - it's the opening of the whole railway. Seems odd to have it in the middle of no-where rather than in Port.

Not at all, we're just being consistent (after a fashion)...

When we opened the section Beddgelert to Hafod y Llyn, there was a 'banner breaking' ceremony at the start of the section - i.e. Beddgelert Station.

Now we're marking the opening of the Pont Croesor to Porthmadog section - with a 'banner breaking' ceremony at the start of that section... Pont Croesor.

As Andrew has already mentioned, there will also be a ceremony at Harbour Station - with speeches and the unveiling of a slate plaque (commemorating the opening of the Caernarfon to Porthmadog link on the 175th anniversary of the opening of the Ffestiniog Railway)...
