Here are some photos that I took last week, following a railtour - the huge 46 class 2-12-4T on the standard gauge at Dimitrovgrad, and the 2-10-2T on the 76cm gauge at Velingrad on the Septemvri to Dobrinishte line.

Who did you do the tour with? I really would love to go and see the monster tank.

The tour was organised by Railway Touring Company. They seem to do two or three trips a year to Bulgaria. PTG do trips there as well.

Ryan air do flights and the cost of living, in terms of hotels and eating out, is still very low by British standards. The railway system is still extensive, and fares are good value.
