Can anybody tell me the B.R. number of the B1 which was at Norwich in 1966, carrying a number such as 30 or similar ?

Also, does anybody have the details of the L & Y 0-4-4T locos at various depots in the North West ?
I know that there was one at Edge Hill until 1968.

    Bob.

I well remember the old 'coppertop' that was used for carriage heating near to Margate station in the 1950s. This was S.E.C.R. D class No. 31501. She was there for years.
    Cheers

There has been some articles and correspondence in Railway Bylines over the years about these locos. I'll try and dig through my collection tomorrow.

There was definately one at Blackpool, & I have a book with a photo, but don't know which book. 51397 is recorded in use as a stationary boiler at Garston from March 1959 to July 1960.

Just to clarify 3155's post. There were 2 0-4-4tanks at Blackpool (Central) and 1 at Blackpool (North). Photographs of these are in a couple of the Foxline books.
The L&Y 0-6-0 saddle tank at Garston was used to steam heat the banana vans in the docks.

The L & Y Society should be able to help in identifying these locos?
