    Why will 44871 be moving back South?

    The intention was for it to move up later in the summer after 'The Cambrian' where it will work alongside 45407 until the end of the season allowing 61994 to move to the North Yorkshire Moors early August and 45231 to move back South.

    I was under the impression that 44871 was just sent up for a few weeks to kick off the evening trains and provide some cover for 61994. 44871 has dissapeared fromthe locomotive roster after Friday night (uksteaminfo),
    Although I may be completely wrong.

    44871 has only gone up to provide motive power for the evening trips. I don't think UKSteam has being updated yet. 61994 is back in action and we can't wait to get cracking with our filming next week!

    Hi. It looks like the evening trips will finish on Friday and then afternoon runs from next week, dep FW 14.45. Hopefully this will give the punters a better return time to FW. I believe 44871 will do these trips throughout (currently until end of July ...).
