I hope that collections worldwide are revisiting their fire precautions in light of this

Sure, the loss is tragic indeed.
But their collection is huge, the complete list is here:
    http://www.nbjvm.se/en/fordon
Five pages of vehicles, including some very old electrics, from the time when the iron ore line north of the arctic circle was electrified 101 year ago. They even have one of the two EE cl. 08 shunters imported to Sweden in 1949.
And it was a storage shed that burned, thus most of their collection remains intact.

The loss is bad enough though. About fifteen motor trolleys and smaller diesel locomotives, about 10 coaches plus a huge collection of spare parts.
The list of losses is here:

Especially the coaches are an acute problem as they right now don’t have any rolling stock for their planned excursion tours this summer. They have asked other museums and societies for stock to borrow.

As the fire started in the middle of the midsummer’s night (which is a big party night in Sweden with way too much alcohol), the suspicion is that the fire is caused by arson. And this is a threat to all in the preservation movement and almost nothing can possibly be covered by insurance. The fees would be prohibitive.
