I'm not much of a fan of it either to be honest, but that's not going to stop me booking on tours with it or going to see it. It's fantastic to have it back on the mainline once again.

That would be little advance over lineside signals and TPWS. ETCS does a great deal more.

There is an existing design for ETCS equipment, we just need to work out how to fit that! It gives far more info than basic signalling including the gradient of the road ahead, upcoming speed changes, the current speed and the current max speed....
