No matter what we think are the causes of water level variation, experience tells us where it is going to end up and, as long as it covers the crown, we're OK. Phew!

Yes, but an individual's experience thus far doesn't seem to cover all the scenarios. If the degree of regulator lift really does vary from nothing at all to "$£#@ where did it go?" then there's potential for coming unstuck. Would be interesting to figure out what the critical factors are, and how they interact.

 

I've responded to this in the MIC section as it's nothing really to do with the Black Pig (6619).

I'm still wondering what 6619 has to do with Captain Pugwash!

 

6619 ran a special train this morning for the shareholders, and hopefully will be in regular service in the near future.

 

Great day out with 6619 today. Expect it to be in service most weekends until Christmas.

Is the Captain Pugwash name anything to do with the 56xx rocking motion inparted on a train. 6695 quite bad in the respect....

 

It's nickname on the NYMR. It's black and a pig to drive and fire. Not for anyone who is over 5'-5" tall and doesn't have long arms and a bent back. I can just about get comfortable when driving forwards but the only way I can get comfortable and look out when running in reverse is to wedge myself between the reverser and cab and have one leg dangling over the cab side!

 

I'm 5'11", have British Standard arms and a slightly bent back. I expect to drive 6619 on 09/12, I wonder how I'll get on?

 

You could try using the footsteps like the rest of us. If you really need a stairlift you've only got to ask!
