    A brilliant achievement; well done. I have fond memories of when the class was the regular motive power on the 1030 summer Saturday service from Lymington Pier to Waterloo, due in at 1256. Many is the time I was at Wimbledon watching the procession of services around lunchtime. The preceding train was the 9.20 from Weymouth due in at 1250 that would often have a Merchant Navy up front. This would breeze by in its customary effortless manner and then there would be an interlude before something like 76009 or 76014 would appear on the scene. Its passing was a whirl of rods and a rather breathless chattering as it tried to pace its more long legged predecessor. Sadly, I have no information about how the crews drew lots to discover who would work the service!

    Is the loco back in traffic, during a visit a couple of weeks back I was told that the loco had been failed from traffic due to the tyre profiles being out of profile/ gauge?

    Good afternoon everyone,

    I'm part of a team of Beta-testers for a new model of the Standard 4 Mogul for Train Simulator 2014, apart from a Standard loco (pun intended), there are models of both 76079 and 76084.
    At the moment, the model of 76084 mirrors the actual loco as she is currently in having the rod from the rear crank pin that the Stones Speedometer cable drive would be fitted to, but no speedo fitted.
    Will there be a speedo fitted and driven off of that crank pin at all?. If so, I'll ask the modeller to correctly add it :).

    76084 is the booked service train locomotive on the Elr tommorrow after a successful test run today. First full day in traffic on home turf since the 60's. Come along for the Ride. Full line tickets acts as a rover and I think gives access to Bury Transport Museum. And say hello to the Driver :)

    Just in case anyone wants to see a bit of TV with this loco in action, it featured towards the end of Tony Robinson's walks in history programme last night (Channel 4) Sorry not sure of the exact title.
    In fact a fair bit of this episode dealt with the coming of the railways to North Norfolk.

    I finally got to ride behind her today at the NNR gala. She sounded great going up Kelling Heath Bank, a very nice loco. Fantastic effort by all involved in bringing her back.

    Thanks for the sentiment. We are pleased with her as is the NNR reporting that she is a well liked member of their fleet. Though small 76084 is both economical to run and not phased by the NNR's larger loads (or Kelling Bank!!).
