    why is this part of the forum subject to censorship? I have 3 times tried to put posts of news on recently and all have been lost in the ether for days. Yet any old rubbish appears instantly in the heritage news area. I will not bother in future and use other forums who have an even handed approach

    And this proves the point perfectly because all my 3 posts about the position on mull disapeared for days including the one posted this morning but this rubbish appeared straight away. So if its rubbish it appears but if its news its monitored. i'm not going to support a group which operates in this way and will never post again.     Not quite sure what the problem is as I have just checked and your post is visible and indeed so is the 1st and 2nd attempt of the last post you made.

    Just to reassure you there is no censorship going on in this section of the forum. Should you have any further issues though can I suggest that you contact myself or another member of the moderation team so we can look into it.

    And miraculously it has now appeared but it was not there an hour ago and the previous posts went missing for well over a day. Each time I got the message your update is subject to moderation. It was lost so long that in frustration I posted the same message. I will not waste my time again on this forum

    As has been explained to Merlin in a PM, pre modding occurs when a new member with less than a certain number of posts has made a post with links to other sites in it, this is just an anti spam precaution.
    Contact a member of the mods team who will check the site and if OK, approve the post.

    Its not new - its not consistent - and it is damned annoying!

    Videos put up sometimes appear instantly and other times don't appear at all - software glitch????

    Without it you would end up with a lot more spam which would equally infuriate people .

    Moderators have other lives as well and we do try to strike a reasonable balance

    It should prehaps be pointed out Frank that the moderation team are volunteers and we do our best. As Sidmouth said we do have other lives away from the forum as well.

    We try to keep the forum, which is the busiest traffic and member wise (in what we do) running smoothly as we can.

    If there was no moderation then you read various adverts in the posts for viagra etc lol!!!

    And you would not believe how many spammers get through the various filters. Every day I go through the list of on average 10 new members, all those who do not put a proper name in the appropriate place have their user name Googled.
    It's amazing how many turn out to have joined at least a dozen completely unrelated forums in the last 24 hours. Most are then checked against the 'Stop Forum Spam' web site which confirms they are know spammers. Acounts promptly terminated.
