Just the one turntable isn't going to be much use if there's no turning facilities at the other end of the line!

Good to see a child on the footplate!

 

Such a shame to see the "home fleet" dissipate, especially Foxcote Manor.
I really hope they have a few successful seasons when they can restart and can build up and interesting fleet again.

Does 'Jennifer' have problems running forwards then? Not much use if only does backwards.

 

As the Llangollen railway (hopefully) grows again and becomes more successful, so locomotive owners will be interested in bringing their locos to be based there.

 

Yes admittedly it’s not going to happen overnight. However eventually if the Llangollen railway has a need for the locos, and the finances to pay the steaming fees, they will come.

 

This is another iteration of the "build it and they will come" myth. The Ecclesbourne Valley is a good example of a thriving line that hasn'td managedhe finis to get a single ex-BR engine to be based there. The Embsay & Bolton Abbey hasn't either. I could go on, but the evidence is out there. The best the LR can probably hope for is that Foxcote Manor will eventually reappear, that 7754 and 80072 gets overhauled fairly quickly and the last remaining 55XX on the line gets finished sooner rather than later. That would give them a reasonable fleet.

 

If they hadn't already, frankly it's tough titties. That's both the purpose and guillotine-like nature of bankruptcy.
