    Thanks for posting this Martin. The VGR is a fabulous country heritage steam railway and I hope to visit it once again once travel becomes easier again. The background to the transfer of the loco to its present position is covered by the excellent VGR Civil Works blog (see www.vgr.com.au).

    It is good to see E371 looking presentable at long last. It was looking very tatty when I saw it in 2009. Prior to that I saw it dumped at Newport, where it had been a workshops shunter, in December 1971. IMG_1598 copy.jpg 71-12-9 11.10   E371.jpg

    Thanks for the photos. It certainly does look a lot better now. I wonder if they still have the rods?

    I wondered that as well. I suspect not, as I'm sure that they would have been fitted while in the shed at Maldon.
