Maybe they think you are still a member? It would 'interesting' IMHO (if perhaps morally wrong) to send in a postal vote anyway and then see what reaction you get :-)

Of course, an organisation that retained your personal data beyond the point at which they needed it for the stated business purpose might be on somewhat sticky ground in GDPR terms ;) Too soon? :) Tom

Funnily enough I was just catching up and thinking exactly the same thing when I read your post, and remember well how the WSR thread was the same as you say. Mod note - Please can we try to remain on the subject this thread is about - the L&B...

There will inevitably be a bit of a hiatus, as voting slips are being received and sent in, and most people have decided how they will vote by now, but I'm sure things will liven up again on or about May 11th! Talking of the L&B, has anybody...

This thread seems to be suffering in the same way the WSR threads used to during their crises; when things went quiet for a bit a number of people who posted almost exclusively on that one thread got restless not having anything new to talk about...

Oh! That's OK then, we can carry on talking about music, it has an L&B connection! :D Had to look that one up to be honest, they toured the area quite extensively playing at The Queens in Barnstaple along with The Pink Fairies! Interesting link...

Thank you - I certainly feel older quite often. I can recall hearing the news on the 1 o'clock news just before going to the refectory at school. Remember what he produced in such a short time, and imagine what he would have achieved had he...

You're older than you think: Buddy Holly died 3 February 1959 (age 22 years), Clear Lake, Iowa, United States My daughter was in a local production of Buddy the Musical last week!

I'm not familiar with Iron Maiden's oeuvre. However, and keen as I am to see dramatic change at the top, I am not sure that I regard them in quite the light suggested. My experience of them suggests dedicated people, out of their depth and...

On a note of trivia.... I note that this forum is now on Page 666. Might this perhaps be the year of the (removal of) the Beast ? :-)

The AGM is for members only - so it would be inappropriate [in my view] to record it surreptitiously. Many organisation make a video feed available for members to view AGMs - this is something for the trustees to discuss for future meetings.

It would be helpful to many, I suspect, but although there is no expectation of privacy in public, Lynton Town Hall will be in use for private hiring, even if often publically accessible. Official recording would be permitted but only if all...

For at least the last 5 GMs, the ballot paper format/wording has changed, sometimes subtly, sometimes not. Strange, as it is largely the work of one person, and each change seems to cause confusion. One advantage of having FOR and AGAINST (and...

Poetry Please I've just had to rebuild my PC, and took the opportunity to 'upgrade' to Windows 11. I'm still getting to grips with some interesting changes, but one is that it comes with its own AI facility, Copilot, so I did the obvious and...

It is quite common for company and charity boards to recommend (or not) some of the candidates in a contested election. I suspect that in the eyes of many members this time, such recommendations may not be seen so positively.
