5197 out today on a seven coach train. Loco was short of steam on both trips needing a blow up for around 10 mins, probably due to coal quality....

I saw this done back in 1973 on the Bagnall austerity at Graig Merthyr Colliery.
The gradient up into Lionheart is 1 in 60 I was told, but its only a few hundred yards long. Film I have seen doesn't suggest any problems with this.
