I dont know about low pressure... but yet footplates rides were done and I had many a happy trip on them as well as 2500 and Oliver Cromwell.

Absolutely right.. if folks choose to ride behind diesel or battery then good luck to them but not for me.
Surely steam is the appeal of this line? I would not certainly not pay to ride behind it.

There was also a fireless loco at Bressingham. The last time I saw it the eccentric rods were bent as no doubt it had been dragged along seized....

That is not quite the case, steam always was used from Southend and back until approx 10 years ago then it was steam out and diesel and return now...
Not surprising as the steam leg from Southend was going to be diesel. I spoke to Steam Dreams ;ast week and they said there is to be no more...
