Whilst speaking to the owner of the field at Docker he advised that the dreaded green fencing is shortly being erected

Sorry for the delay in responding to this. I timed the previous run on 9 August 2015 and it took 27 minutes 21 seconds to get to Ais Gill from Appleby. I was seated in the 3rd coach. So a similar timing position on each occasion and only a very small difference in the time to the summit. It is noticeable that the earlier run was actually slower to Mallerstang but afterwards speed was better maintained on the final pull up to the summit.

Thank you so much for clarifying the start-to-pass times for the climb to Ais Gill summit. Always fascinating to witness the recording and the verification/ authentication of claims for runs that set unusually high standards of performance and challenge existing records. So honours clearly go to the 2015 run that you timed, but it has to be said that both runs were manifestly outstanding efforts for a 5XP machine with this sort of load. I think we can count ourselves very lucky to have had both your good-self and on this occasion OTW on hand to capture these moments.

Saturday 20 July times have been out for a while, 6201 listed as the power, can't see anyone has posted:

To my eye, looks extremely long between Lostock and Settle with no stop for water at Hellifield, 19 mins path allowance at Horrocksford. Not much scope for early running as it follows 10.13 passenger off Hellifield, unless they get it there before then and allow it out.

Water at Chatburn? Which would explain the extra long time allowance to Hellifield.

Isn't there still a points issue that stops the use of the loop going northbound. Someone mentioned it on the BIL trip last Tuesday.

Chatburn, that's new/different, don't remember there before, thanks for the heads up.

I don't know if it's correct on RTT, but it's suggesting platform 2 instead of the usual through road where they take water, so your point is probably valid.

Just looked at the 60163 trip and that's booked 17 mins stop in Hellifield platform 2, water or not?

Thanks for your words of encouragement. As I had quoted info from the 28th May run I had thought that a more detailed comparison might be in order; it is on my "to do list". Just at the moment I seem to have spent a considerable amount of time sitting on a train or at a computer keyboard, but when a get a quieter day I will do it.

A couple of days ago I got an email from RTC thanking passenger for their patience when the return trip was delayed (trespass south of Preston). The email also highlighted upcoming trips. I had left the train at Preston but a nice touch / marketing opportunity none the less.

There's a long stop for the CME on 20th July on the return leg at Ravenhead Down Goods Loop of 25mins that I've never seen before. Could that be a water stop?

Looks like a pathing stop to let a couple of Lime St bound trains pass. Will have watered at Carnforth, diesel attaches to rear at Preston and hauls the train back from Lime St to Crewe, so shouldn’t need water.

I just been told that Lizzie is coming off at Preston and it will be diesel back to Liverpool. Anyone any info on this, I don't want to waste my time getting set up if Lizzie isn't on it!

On RTT it still looks like Lizzie on front with diesel on rear from Preston to Lime St.
