    Hello,
Is the above vehicle the Whitewash Coach still at the Barry Railway?
Have come across a few photos of the coach when stored at York.
Has this been deassenioned as well?

Nick, it left the collection for its new owner some time ago as you know.

Suggesting as you do on Flickr that we care more about locomotives is not the case - my job is to ensure the best possible care for the collection, and if that means that for that to happen, it has to find a new home, so be it. Museum collections are dynamic, things come in and things go.

If we only cared about locomotives, we would not be working with the NSERS to improve the lot of the 2HAP unit, restored a 5 ton steam yard crane, restored a Scaldwell side tipping wagon, LMS 3rd brake 5987 and be engaged on the Churchill funeral van at present, as well as the LSWR diner/ambulance coach.

Do talk to me, you will find I'm approachable - honest!

It isn't the NRM as their web site lists all the engines, coaches and wagons which is part of their collection and did a search for DW139 and came up with a blank as well, and this list includes the items that are on loan to other railways etc. I have sent an email asking them do they know who owns it now as they should have a record of who took it over from them.

Yes we do, we keep records of how the collection is managed - it's part of our job.

You should hear back from your enquiry, but that will only be a record of to whom we transferred it, any subsequent changes of ownership will not be noted by us.
