    according to LNER build dates 60043 was the only A3 built in 1935 exactly 12 months after the penultimate loco (60042)
    wondering why the 12 month delay, any ideas?

    If you look at the Doncaster works numbers it looks as though 60043 was started in sequence but my guess is that the first batch of A4s had greater priority early in 1935 and so the A3 completion date slipped.
