I am looking to maybe get some Headboards made. I have looked on the Newton and Procast websites. Does anyone know of anyone else who can make the boards, would consider wooden replicas if they are of decent quality.

    Many thanks.

KHARDS, I have about half a dozen replica headboards for sale. Most have been used on mainline steam in the last 20 years or so.

If you want to PM me I'll let you have the details.

There's a guy who often has a stall at GCR galas who does wooden replica nameplates etc. We've had Biggin Hill plates off him and the quality is excellent. For the life of me I can't remember his contact details and he wasn't there in January.

I'm sure they are great for a wall display but would they last very long on the front of an engine?

Agreed: Unfortunately quite a number of the "so called" replicas have only a passing similarity to the originals.

    Hi there,

Sorry for the late reply. This guy:

    www.timbertracks.co.uk

Currently does laser cut wooden kits for full size loco nameplates, numberplates and shedplates. If you ask i'm sure (infact i'm fairly certain from talking to him) he can do a wooden kit for headboards, both historic and custom.

Please mention me if you do contact him.

    Cheers.

    Andy Hardy
