I'm suprised no-one has mentioned these before, but has anyone seen the new T gauge models from eishindo? i saw them in the gaugemaster shop and didn't really believe that they moved, but there's video showing that they do. the distance between the track is just 3mm, and although the only models out at the moment are 4-car EMU's in 4 different colours. they're powered by the same motors used to make phones vibrate, the track is all steel and the wheels are magnetic. it only needs 3 AA batteries and the max track radius is 132.5mm though flexitrack is coming soon. i'm seriously thinking of getting some, especially since a set can be bought on ebay for 30 quid, the same ammount as a circle of track and a controller. points come out later this year though.

The company who make it also do a 'garden railway' with G-scale people...I think it models 5"

There is a review in this months Model Railway Magazine (No132). I can’t see the point in running a very small gauge railway? I’m sure there will be a big issue with dirt/dust getting on the track which is bound to cause unsmooth running for locos/units which will stop them dead in their tracks. I would think you would need to keep a track rubber to hand at all times.

I'll be honest, I'm tempted to get a set just for the sheer novelty value of it.

Can't see why that would be a bigger issue than 00 or N, dirty rails and wheels will cause dodgy running in any scale.
