Just a quick word on latest goings on with the loco fleet and restorations.

7903 - winterised, but ready but ready for the start of the season.
2807 - Group are working on the tender which will be on its way to Llangollen to join the engine in march, boiler coming out this week for hydraulic test, newly tyred wheelsets going back in. Keep an eye on the groups website.
8274 - Tender now full with 4000 gals - only a few minor weeps. Cab reffitted and back head reassembled. Cladding fitted, all except first barrel sheets and in first topcoats (BLACK). Slidebars ready for final fit allowing piston and valves to be re-assembled. Starting to look VERY nice.

    Thanks for that, most interesting.

Always good to get a roundup like this. The SVR and Llangollen have been regulars for some time, the more the merrier.

AndyB, thanks for the update. A locomotive operating agreement has recently been signed between Cotswold Steam Preservation (2807 owners) and the Glos Warks Railway and it is planned for 2807 to enter service this year, at the end of May. Progress is ongoing and the 2807 Website is the best place for an update (especially for 2807 members like me who can't get their hands dirty at Toddington very much these days). I think LMS 8274 is going to be quite a star and of course 8Fs did run over the Glos Warks Railway, particularly in BR days with diverted goods trains. Good to read that 35006 is progressing, its always been a bit of a race between 2807 and 35006 but the Bulleid is a bit bigger and a bit more complex!
