YouTube 'Friends'

    Has other YouTube members recently had a lot of people sending 'friend' invites? Two said they wanted more friends so their total would top 1,000. Didn't seem to care who, as long as they reached that number...:crazy: Needless to say invites ignored.

    I can see the reason to subscribe to a particular member, to be notified when they upload a new video but perhaps somebody could give me a good reason for this 'friends' thing, what does it achieve, what's the point.....

    I get a mixed bag, as a rule I check their you tube site to see if it railway or steam related.

    I too ignore them. I suppose I'm a bit stuffy but to me a friend is someone I've known for a long time and trust absolutely. I recently had a request for friendship from a person whose YouTube channel was made up of my films! All very odd.
