    This may not be strictly heritage, but I understand that the Canadian railway line from Sault St Marie to Hearst, through the Agawa Canyon, may be under threat of closure. Does anyone know more about this?

    From the little I know Algoma Central was given a months reprieve in February this year. How that has worked out I can't say.

    But CN are selling the Algoma Central business car 'Agawa'. Weather over the winter has been hard in that area. The SOO locks and Lake Superior are only recently free of ice, so I guess the railroad has been in hard times as well.

    Addendum: Actually there is still ice in parts of Lake Superior and it will linger on until June.
