The line is not fenced in so most locations are accessible. I went there for a gala in October 2011 which was a cloudy day and found the best location to be under the trees between the long straight and the main station where there is a climb and the line curve ( see http://paulsimpson.zenfolio.com/p884180991/h2f8c86c0#h2f8c86c0 . The area adjacent the lawn is accessible , the line runs North -South in this location ( I think) with the locos facing north. The photos you have seen are taken from the west . The line is not very long and a lot will depend if the sun is out and the effect it has, and if the extension to the carpark is in use ( runs North East to South West then South - locos facing south see http://paulsimpson.zenfolio.com/p884180991/h1bc8cd33#h1bc8cd33 )

Yes I am an active volunteer
I paid a first visit there last Sunday, brilliant little place with some lovely locomotives. Had some rather hot weather to go with it.

No I do not currently volunteer
The line's only about a mile long and is in a C shape, and is easy to walk along/around. It's a lovely little line, well worth a few hours down there.
