Dual Gauge query

    Would it be possible to have dual gauge track with both standard gauge and Irish gauge (using just 3 rails)? In other words, is there room for an extra rail only 6.5" beyond the standard gauge rail?

    Apologies - just seen on Wikipedia that this is indeed possible and has been done in Australia.
