Also very true, if you look at the front of the boiler, which is in shadow, it looked different from the tender. I would think it's a Nikon image uncolour corrected.

It's about the same BR colour as tornado was painted - also about the same colour as Wadebridge's tender. I prefer it to the deeper bottle greens sometimes used.

I'm not a massive fan of BR green but she does look stunning.

Having seen the photo of Scotsman over the wheeldrop at York, that paint finish looks absolutely superb! Really looking forward to seeing this machine out and about again...

Congratulations to all involved in getting the Loco. properly sorted, and to those involved in finishing it off livery-wise!

    Richard.

Looked superb in Scarborough, as has been said numerous times before, it is a credit to all concerned.
Hopefully all is now well, certainly wasn't hanging about through Seamer on the return this evening

OK putting to one side for the moment, the modificatins that have happened with 'Scotsman over the years. And seeing some of the current photos of her without nameplates; How about running her in the original or near original livery as 1472 [N] without the nameplates she did 93 years ago.As to be honest how much of the present locomotive date back those 93 years to 1923? Answer to be honest IMO little if anything.

2/3rds of the frames, some of the cab platework and maybe the splashers. That's it.

You are right, very little but more important, the current FS looks different so the livery would be meaningless, the boiler, cab and tender are all different.

Do we have any word yet on timings for the Inaugural Run itself on Thursday?

Is there any evidence that even those parts are original?

The loco is magnificent and I have no issues with how original etc it is, I am just wondering out of interest how the list of 'original' parts was arrived at.

Stamped numbers, and FS had brass beading on the splashers. These are still fitted with brass beading
