Having seen some of the comments (both positive and negative) on here and other forums regarding recent galas, a recent conversation led to a couple of us hitting upon the idea of a universal gala committee... The idea being that those who have attended galas or events at railways have a specific access point to praise the good aspects of galas, and grumble about the less good aspects, which would find their way to the railway concerned. The 'committee' could then pass general comments to the railway, for consideration when holding future events. Therefore, visitors would be able to get more from their day, and railways would be able to attract more passengers. In short, the railways are offered some market research with zero effort, and passengers have a say in future events. This would, of course, depend upon the following factors:

    > Would those who visit galas be prepared to submit short reviews, or simply 'positive/negative' comments, after the event?
    > Would a small number of volunteers on here be willing to give up some of their time in order to assist with the group?
    > Would those in charge of organising galas be prepared to listen to the group, and take its advice seriously?

Please send me a PM if you are able to help with the latter 2 points. With the former, a general view on here would help. Thanks.

In a sense, yes. The idea being to channel all that whinging into one place (ie so it's not all over every forum as well) and turn it in to constructive criticism.
