I have obtained a large quantity of GWR King class photos
This one features 6000 King George V with a brand new Castle and a Star?
Cannot identify the Castle or the Saint as only part of the number showing
    Castle 501? Star 400?

Can anyone identify the 2 locos and a date and location please
    Many thanks in advance
    Neil

I believe the location to be Old Oak Common.

I think there is only a choice of 3 Castles, 5010/11/12. 5013 onwards had the later inside cylinder casing along with dished frames over the leading bogie wheels.
Could narrow it down a bit more, the nameplate does not look long enough for 5012 Berry Pomeroy Castle.

Getting eyestrain from staring at those nameplates.... :)

My guess at the Castle would be Restormel Castle, the name proportions looks just the same as in a photo of 5010. The Star could be either Evening Star or Morning Star, I can't see any way of judging between the two.

Joseph Baker & Sons and Perkins Ltd had a factory at Willesden

That photo's made me think, it would be nice if Pendennis Castle were to be paired up a small tender, perhaps 2999's could be loaned at some point?

No I do not currently volunteer
That, of course, is why all locos and tenders at the GWS should be painted in GWR green, then combinations could be mixed and matched with a minimum of effort...

Whilst the Joseph Baker & Sons and Perkins Ltd factory address is given as Willesden, it was actually situated in Hythe Road, just the other side of the canal from Old Oak Common shed where the photograph was taken.

Restormel Castle. Incidentally I believe that it was the first 'production' Castle class to be withdrawn.

I always think that the GW engines look more old fashioned with the smaller tender. Not a criticism, I like both, just an observation.
