On Saturday night I attended a Timeline Events overnight charter featuring two buses from the London Bus Museum at Brooklands. The buses involved were RML3 and RT2775. RML3 of course became RM3 when the "L" for Leyland was dropped when the longer RML's came on stream. Anyone interested can view my photos here https://paulgildersleve.smugmug.com/London-Saturday-4th-February-2017/

They are fantastic photos, I'm especially impressed by the one with the reflection from the London Eye. Thanks so much for sharing the link here!

Excellent as usual sir, I do like those RT's, I've driven on just once and it was a wonderful experience, sitting there in a half cab, an AEC burbling away, and a pre select. Even now at my age I'd happily do a shift in one, and yes........in central London.:)

Yes I am an active volunteer
My father liked the RTs but didn't like the Leyland version, the RTL. I seem to remember him saying there was a fair bit of vibration in the cab and they were a bit sluggish compared to the AEC. Catford Garage had both and I know once when he was to drive a staff outing to Margate he went in and asked the garage Foreman to exchange the selected RTL for an RT

Many thanks for the kind words cymroglan and Victor.

On this occasion we travelled from Brooklands to/from London on RML3. I found it a noticeably more comfortable ride than our regular vehicle, RTL139, which was replaced by the RT for this jaunt as the RTL was poorly.

    Regards,

    Paul
