Personally I am disappointed that the Cotton Mill is not running this year.
However looking at a dining trip with my better half courtesy of our two sons.
Would have jumped at the Preston to Edinburgh jobby as we have an A1 tours trip booked in July from there to Aberdeen, prior engagement.

    Regards John.

Back in the 60s I was on my way to Totnes to join a working party on the Dart Valley Railway when the guard walked through the train suggesting that any passengers for Dawlish should make their way to the front of the train and alight in the shelter of the station building if they wanted to avoid a soaking. He wasn’t joking, the waves were hitting the side of the train all the way along the coast.

Email from RTC on 10th December said
"With regards to your booking on The Tynesider scheduled for Saturday 11 th June 2022, we are writing to inform you that sadly due to an engineering block between Wrawby Junction and North Lincoln Junction which prevents the train from travelling through Scunthorpe in either direction, we have no option but to cancel this tour. We have looked at depth into every possibility to try and find a way to route the tour, avoiding the block, or to find an alternative date to run the tour in 2022, however despite our very best efforts, this has proved to be impossible."

The 21st August trip is now showing steam hauled from Par on the return:

"We leave Par steam hauled by Duchess of Sutherland at around 17:45 and stop at Plymouth to pick up those passengers who chose to alight there. Our train then returns to Bristol, stopping to set down passengers at Exeter, Taunton and Yatton enroute".

    Most excellent news!

I think I may book up for the Cheshireman. I've had steam out of Euston before but the Duchess is what seals the deal and fingers crossed it's third time lucky having 6233 haul it (the Sheffield Park to Bath and Lindum Fayre tours I went on were originally due to have the Duchess haul them but never came to pass) and I have yet to have any sort of trip behind a Duchess. Also my work has a shutdown I can book time off work for either side of it.

i have been reading the SSE thread regarding the inspection pit at NRM and was wondering what if the FTR facilities a York are not repaired, what will happen to Steam trips like the Waverley tours starting with steam at York?

The loco could run from Carnforth with the empty stock and diesel haulage or could come on at Hellifield. Neither of which are very satisfactory options.

Is the possibility to use the loco hauling the scarborough say like 35018 45699 or 46115 still be coaled and watered at york outside the N.R.M. and the E.C.S. used on the scarborough trains be also used on the Waverley tours, BUT can the F.T.R. carried out at 10A before the loco,s be stabled at York? and then the last Waverley tour takes the E.C.S. and back up diesel to 10A?

Another possible, the Wensleydale railway, mainline connection last used for 45407 on polar express duties. Possibly closer than kwvr but still not the ideal as added light engine movements and tender first in one direction.

Only way it could be done at keighley is the loco and support coach face northbound (boiler 1st) from platform 4 and a C,47 attached rear to drag the S.C. and loco in Light steam tender 1st South eastward and probably through castleford and not straight through Leeds city station as pathed and it would have to be very early in the morning before 6am for a path and time to light up at Haworth M.P.D.

Isn't there a pit in the south yard at the NRM, or is the south yard cut off from the main line at the moment?

If the York situation was temporary (do we know?) , would it be out of the question to use Barrow Hill and start the Waverleys from Doncaster for this season?
