Quite a while ago i purchased a little ratio wagon, as i havent made a wagon before i kept putting it off as i didnt think i would be able to do it.
But today i received the plastic cement i was waiting for and got started:

The roof will be painted white when i get the correct paint. I have to say i am quite proud of this and it wasn't difficult at all!

Yep! Those ratio kits make up quite well, here's a link to a picture of my attempt... http://www.frankcollins.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/stock.htm

Now you have done a kit, have a bash at some of the Coopercraft or Parkside kits, all build up quite easily, Some pics of mine at the same link as above.

Have to admit but all that Ive heard about Parkside kits and how difficult people make them out to be. I hve just completed an LNER long wheel base CCT, SR BY utility van and a SR CCT with plywood sides. All 3 of these kits were easy to assemble.
The most annoying feature of Parkside kits is the lack of couplings or any indication where to install them even if you buy the couplings.

Other good kits are the Dapol kits, Also having just completed an Interfrigo wagon, I would much rather assemble a dapol kit. You can build a Dapol kit in 1 day( if you have the time).

Might i ask which is the best two road shed to get? I have recently remodelled my layout and got rid of the horrid hornby shed that i have been using for a number of years and was wondering if a more accurate shed was available

    Superquick or Metcalfe.
Both are very good 2 road sheds and both are very sturdy.
Personal experience would point me towards the new Metcalfe shed.

I have been making up a few engineering wagons over the last year or so to boost my fleet (intend to eventually build up to a rake of RUDD wagons - I'm at 4 now and only another at least 11 to go...!) from Parkside and Cambrian. I have to say I found the Parkside kits the easier of the two to build.

    Cheers,

Took a couple of snaps of the wagon complete with "dirty" white roof, alongside my new addition to the layout, a very smart British Railways van.

Well the original idea was i would create a thread to show the various shots i take... and because the layout is of a shed scene i thought it was an appropriate title for the thread. ;)
