I see there are some new plans around the Southwold Railway:
BBC News - Plan to rebuild Southwold railway and Wenhaston station

I noticed that there wasn't a topic for them here - I have no link to the trust but their site is:

This seems much more achievable than most of the projects put forward in NP

Wonder how many years it will be until Scaldwell is steaming around the site.

I see the Southwold are desperate to obtain siding turnouts; meanwhile the L & B plan to replace the Admiralty siding type turnouts at Killington Lane with larger radius items...

Well, the originals of the L&B turnouts were 2'6", but could they be converted to three foot?

Having converted 95lb BH turnouts from left to right I'm pretty sure you could convert 2' or 2'6" to 3', at least good enough for sidings. You would need longer closure rails between the switches and the crossing and probably to give the curved stock tail a bit of a tweak to meet the wider gauge, but that is about all. The remaining question is, what is the crossing angle - probably quite sharp, but if that big Baldwin Replica can get round the curve in any fashion at all it shouldn't be too bad for little 3' contractors locos which is all Southwold have working at the moment.

What happened to the Isle of Man Cleminson coach and the loco frames - are they still there?

They were at Weeting Steam Rally (Norfolk) in July this year, I assume they are still there.

    Where are the driving wheels?
Not really a good idea to have the loco sitting like that without her horn stays.

"Tynwald" has managed without hornstays (and everything else you can't see) for 70 years ..... just not very well! The frames are none too clever either, following a heavy shunt during it's service life. Probably the reason it was the first IMR BP to be withdrawn.

So she's basically a goner then? I imagine that after 70 years of no support the frames will be bent/twisted/cracked - never mind the heavy shunt that 30854 mentioned.
