    LOL! (several times!)

Well, you could shut down the Nat Pres Forums. That would give the first quote a slight chance of success here!

Not at all - terrific photographs, and she looks utterly gorgeous! :)

Looking forward to seeing her again this coming Sunday.

Looks great. Although being pedantic it looks (from the photos anyway) as though the running plates are black with a red line on the bottom edge. I would have expected for BR green to have seen the running plate in green with a single central orange line. Photos of the original A1s in BR green seem to confirm this.

As said, that's being pedantic and it's great to see the loco back in one piece and will look forward to seeing the loco in action in its new guise.

I think that's a leftover from the Apple Green, Craig - perhaps ran out of time to complete the running plate painting, it may be done after the test run this next week...?

Great pictures. Also nice to see lettering has appeared on 4472's tender.

Not my favourite shade of green by a long way but she still looks good.

Next time it's passing Welwyn North Ian, perhaps you could stand on the edge of the platform with three paintbrushes loaded with yellow paint! :p

Only if you've nailed some steel sheeting on it as it passes Hornsey. :)

Just in case anyone is thinking of going to York to see Tornado - don't.

It is no longer on display anywhere, having been in the yard all day, and now it is in the prep area for work on the brick arch prior to next Wednesday.

TBirdFrank, as far as I'm aware Tornado should be back on display this weekend - in steam in the car park. The plan for this week was Monday and Tuesday on the turntable, Wednesday and Thursday in the workshop. The only day she wasn't going to be on display was Friday when she's due to go into the prep bay. Well that was the plan that was originally agreed with the NRM unless that's been changed Anthony?

Thanks Alexa, I'll freely admit I don't know as it's not been something I've been party to and I've not been at York this week. Will ask the question!
    Cheers

No, the A1s didn't have the lining applied. Some of the A2s did, mind, but - looking back through my books, none of the A1s got this lining out.
