No, not the one on the Chiltern Railways line to High Wycombe and beyond, but the one originally called Wembley Exhibition and situated on a return loop off the High Wycombe line. How many people can remember that line I wonder? There are many people that do not know that it even existed as it was only used when there was a major football match or other big event at Wembley Stadium.

I have a few pictures of it in my archives and there are two now on Flickr. They are only black & white and not very good scans. However, here they are and clicking on them will enlarge them :

Hope that they are of interest. I have some more which I shall put on Flickr in the fullness of time.

If you have a look on google maps. You can make out what looks like an alignment between the Met and the GC lines.

I have now put the rest of the Wembley Stadium loop line pictures on Flickr. This is the first one and clicking on it will enlarge it and take you to the others :

How I wish that I had loaded my camera with colour film that day!

Although the line is mostly built over, there are still some clues on Google Satellite and Google Street View. But the whole area has been redeveloped in a big way and bears little or no resemblance to how it was in my day. However, if you look at this picture, you will see a building across the way from the station with two gables and a half gable :

If you now look at this link to Google Satellite, that building can still be seen thus pin-pointing the site where the station used to be :

Is that where the b4557 meets second way ?
Looking on google street view there is a bridge structure visible which the road goes over what could have been a railway line underneath ?

In a word, yes! The concrete parapets are still there after all this time.

Two images from Google Earth from the same point, one in 1945 & one in 2012. I have marked the station location. Did not realise the new stadium was on the same site as the old one. I thought it was repositioned.

Thanks for those two pictures. They sum it up nicely. The station was just about the only straight bit of track on the loop!
