Retired but once a trawlerman, then a square rigger sailorman, then a fireman now reverting to my first love: being a confirmed Railway nut. Even my wife likes them - but not Diesels, they spread Diseasels! or spam can elektricary things. We live across the fields from the ECML and watch these new fangled silver cigar tubes carrying busy business men North and South contaminating Mallard metals but that they say is progress. We think its regression but vive la difference I suppose.
