Perhaps it would be best to change the wording on the reporting form?
It currently reads: "Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts."

Just going back to the "double chimney" question, both Clay and Whiteley/Morrison say that 45596 had the modification in 1961, with Whiteley/Morrison saying specifically "outshopped from Crewe Works in 1961" so fitted. I dont have the RCTS publication on the Jubilees, does that have anything to say?

    From 1937 onwards, at various times several Jubilees had double chimneys, 5553 (1940), 5596,( 1961), 5684 (1936 to 1938), and 5742 ( removed 1955). 45722 (1956 to 1957 ?)

    45722 was tested at Rugby as late as 1956, and in 1957 several Jubilees received modified draughting, including 5601, 5606, 5622, 5628, 5672, 5688, 5733, and 5738.

It was one boiler that was moved between chasses as per usual practice.

Unfortunately the flypast was a non starter but is scheduled for @ noon today. I also attended my first AGM of the Bahamas Locomotive Society yesterday and must say I was very, very impressed by their presentation and true professionalism, which will augre well for the forthcoming overhaul of Bahamas. Funds are still needed as are also members......come on ladies and gentlemen, however small your contribution it will be most welcome in order to get this unique locomotive up and running again. One years membership is only £15.00, and yesterdays AGM included a buffet lunch and free access to the KWVR including trains.............a bargain!

Good news, really impressed with Tyseley's setup. Also interesting on the educational aspects that are coming along with the Bahamas Lottery grant.

Thanks for all these words of encouragement! 45596 should move to Tyseley within the next few weeks; we are looking forward to working with Bob Meanley and his team and of course getting our 'interloper' into GWR territory in steam again! In the meantime the LNWR Coal Tank is 125 years old in September, has been in the ownership of the National Trust for 50 years this year and in BLS care for 40 years. All invited to CT125 events on the KWVR on 19/20 October. Details on the BLS website.

Has Bahamas already been moved to Tyseley? If not when is the move scheduled for?

In the same way that the main line wouldn't be the same without a double chimney Castle wowing us all, the same is true of a double chimney Jubilee. So I hope that the overhaul goes well without too many financially unpleasant surprises. There's almost certainly a queue of people out there who are waiting for her return and I hope that at the front will be those who will have funded or contributed to the overhaul. Us mortals can surely wait, but it will be worth it!
