Thank you, I get the feeling that many on here don't like red painted locos. I would not be as big of a talker/typist if more people did.

I like red engines, I just prefer them with LMS on the tender and numbered 5699.

If it's been left until 35018 is good to go why go to the effort of lighting it up again as per the earlier video?

Much more likely is the problems aren't too hard to fix and they want to see if the fettling worked, or they are things that you can only really see if it's in steam.

Ps. I agree with Mrs. B keep it red!

Because it has a train to haul next Wednesday.
Perhaps it's a proving run to any potential purchaser now that A says that B overheard C saying somewhere to D that it was for sale by it's owner charity E ,along with 45690 by owner F, whilst on a train between G and H. According to I it was Mrs S not Mrs B(not related to B) who liked it in red.

If I bought one, I could also cut it up and melt it down for hair clips. I think there might be a few comments, though.

Assuming a Jubilee was for sale.
Anyone any idea what the current value might be.
Just curious as to how you value something that rarely comes up for sale.

Mmm, but if you painted some of the hair clips green, some red, some lined black and some unlined black you'd keep nearly everyone happy.

In a similar way to a classic car but on a much larger scale?! How rare, money invested, overall condition etc?!

I have no idea but I would have thought 600-800k+ maybe?

It's value is whatever someone is willing to pay for it ... Unless Glass's Guide has anything on Jubilees? :)

now, heres a thought, as 46699 has had a new wheelset, to replace the cut one,and a lot of new parts, would it be classed as a cat C,or D , and would you put a Q plate on it, :)
( In car terms, a Q plate is given any vehicle that its age can not be determined and where so many parts have been changed that very little of the original remains)

Who is what's source about 45699 going up for sale. With the BIG summer schedule that is approaching (Dalesman, Fellsman, and Waverley tours) I would think she would be needed.

One other thing, how many years are left on Scot Guardsman boiler period?

    61306 reputedly reached seven figures.
45593 was supposedly available for sale fairly recently but either nobody met the valuation or Tyseley had a change of heart.
It would be astonishing if 45699, or 45690 for that matter, changed hands unless somebody makes an offer the owner can't refuse. Both locos are highly suited to the operators needs so improving the stud would be a tall order.

No absolutly nothing but is it wrong to want to see somthing that hasn't been seen for a while? Ie a green Jube, and some red Mk1's cantering over the S+C?
