There's a rather nice picture of how 92134 might be completed on its FB page - with the rear of a 4mt 2-6-4T grafted on, to form a 2-10-4T! It's an April fool, of course, but I have to say that it does look rather stylish, if a bit limited in coal and water capacity!

It would make a damned good Lickey banker! No need for the smoke deflectors.

On closer examination, no trailing truck either - outside axleboxes!

To me, it looks as though everything from the running board down should be painted red. :Artist:

Ideal. Water capacity too small for running very far, but enough for one run up the bank, and refill before the next.
It does have that look about it.

News now seems to be out that 92134 is moving to the NYMR next week. A sort of return home as it started life there once it left Barry. Still in need of a tender, I understand.

92134 seems to be a very nomadic locomotive considering it hasn’t steamed in preservation yet.

Surprised it is moving to the NYMR as 92214 was sold on quite quickly. Wasn’t there problems with it negotiating the tight curves?

Sorry just an uninformed arm chair enthusiast here lol

My understanding 0n 92214 was that after its overhaul a suitable running agreement couldn't be reached and so the owners(s) sold it on? The curves are probably more of an issue onto Whitby but I doubt 92134 would be planned to run there,

I thought 92214 was actually owned by the NYMR before it moved to the GCR and was sold?

I believe the previous owner (Stuart Whitter ) was a driver on the NYMR.

92220 Evening Star seemed happy enough running to Whitby in 1987. I did hear a rumour that a dispensation for 92214 was being sought for running to Whitby as there weren't any raised check rails between there and Grosmont, but don't know how accurate that is.

I believe (no official confirmation yet) that it will be on a 10 yr restore and run agreement. As it was steam tested last year its boiler ticket is running and the owner probably wants to see it running asap and has come to realise that there's no realistic prospect of the ELR completing it quickly, whereas the NYMR showed they could do it with 80136. I imagine, though, it will be a winter project once 5428 and 825 are finished.

Howard Self who owns the 9F is also a trustee of the group that owns 80136 so maybe that also has something to do with it?

It would be nice to see a 9F back running on the Moors again?
