    Is this the site?
Looks like it has been partly built over since 2000 (Date of 1st picture I think.)

The buildings in the second picture, nearest the track, are portacabins etc., used by the contractors upgrading
    the tramway.

There used to be a tram depot there at one time I think. BCT also used the site for breaking trams too. I think the route was re-laid there recently, so unless there are points in, I doubt they'd be keen to rip it up again!

Fair enough, Google earth pictures aren't the best to pick out detail. Looks like some track/sidings has been removed though. I remember when visiting Blackpool in the very early 70's (as a youth!) there were some "Coronation" trams being broken up there.

The track was relaid earlier this year and includes a point towards the yard.

Thornton Gate was a coal yard (coal trains ran to Fleetwood) from 1927 and later the PW yard. The site was levelled in 2009 for use as the works compound and a tarmac carpark was incorporated.

Sounds interesting Frank - could you email me re this.

    Cheers
    Paul
