I just saw an old Sheena Easton video on the Bluebell with her riding on the buffer beam of 488!

    Hello,
Excellent video! Was the young footplate person a volunteer,an extra or...?

Maybe all footplate crew should wear such modern dress.

Fair to say that if you are going to do that on any engine, 488 was not a bad choice. You certainly wouldn't be doing it on a 56xx!

A nicely put together video and good Bluebell PR. Amazing what was ok then and seemingly is not ok now.

Once upon a time is was a fairly common practice for a fireman to sit on a buffer beam and sand the rails. 56XX excepted, I agree!
