Apologies if this has been discussed before, but ....

Somewhere around eight to ten years ago there was a group set up who wanted to re-build the BRCW prototype diesel 'Lion'. Does anybody know what happened to the group and their proposal? Apparently they had located the Sulzer engine that had previously been used in Lion, in Class 47 No. 47016.

    Anybody know what happened next?

Hopefully it died a death..... what would be the point? Better to have preseerved 47016 surely.

Why? Lion would be something different whereas 47016 is 'just another' class 47

re-creating a short lived and obscure prototype for no better reason than the engine survives? totally pointless,
