Now all I have to do is fettle them, add motors and build some track to run them on! More should be arriving by the end of next week.

Nope, all kit built. There used to be a company called Mikes Models, and they produced quite a range of broad gauge stuff and I think some of it has passed on to the Broad Gauge SOciety and been updated with modern wheelsets and entched brass components.

The track gauge is approximately 28mm and the track has to be custom made. It also means that OO gauge track cannot be laid in dual gauge with it, so I intend to keep the two separate.

    Regards,

    Dan

Have you looked at the mixed gauge track at Didcot in the last century?
Standard and narrow gauges exist in harmony, almost... perfectly recreating the good old days. :-D

Yes, but OO gauge track is 16.5mm between rails, which is inaccurate in 4mm scale, meaning that it would appear too narrow when compared with the broad gauge rails.

which begs the question- are they HO broad gauge or OO broad gauge? but if you're replacing the driving wheels, that's your prerogative

Well, they are 4mm scale broad gauge - they run on 28mm wide tracks. OO is 4mm scale on narrow (HO) track, which is 16.5mm wide. If you want correct track width in 4mm scale you should use EM or P4 gauge.

    Dan
