Hello all, please take a bit of time to have a look at our Butterwell Branch project, north of Ashington in Northumberland.

Here is our website link: https://sites.google.com/view/abtra/home

    Also our blog: www.abtra.wordpress.com

Thanks and please feel welcome to comment below.

Well the website appeared to have nothing on it and refered me to the blog. And the article I clicked on on the blog refered me to the website. (I admit there were other articles but I lost the will to read them).

So you might want to put a little more detail on the website before launching it on an unsuspecting public.

If you scroll along options bar at top (admittedly a bit hard to see if viewed on a desktop) it has a wide range of pages. Sorry for mix up, the website is still a work in progress.

    Thanks for looking though!

Ok, can I suggest you change the photo on the front page as, as you say, the option bar is lost in the picture?

I would echo Simon's comments - the menu bar is lost in the picture. I would also add that a map showing the planned line and stations (historical and/or planned) would be useful for those not intimately familiar with the area. I did click on the 'Plans for the Butterwell Branch' link but I have to say that I am still in the dark as to what those plans are!

I think you might be well advised to look at some other heritage railway websites and see how they have structured their content.

Made a few changes recently and been working on a map today, should be hopefully finished later today and uploaded. Thanks for the feedback and trying out the website! Can I ask what device you viewed it on?

Has the website improved for you, quite limited with the host (Google Sites) but it is free of charge. If still problematic I'll adapt the image on the homepage.

    Thanks!

  10. With web sites, as with everything, you get what you pay for. A free web site will always look like a free web site. For not much outlay, you can make something a lot better on the likes of Wordpress or Wix.

Thank you, we use Wordpress as our Blog, and Google Sites is our more permanent website at present. However we do intend to upgrade our online presence with easier URL address etc in time! Thanks though and will continue to add to things as and when possible.

You could add the content of your website to your Wordpress blog using static WP pages. Then it's all in one place.

Last time I attempted to add more pages it seemed to block adding any more, will have another attempt when time allows however! Thanks for the advice!
