Certainly an incentive for some to look again at Dual braking !
If staff are on a payroll and materials are already bought - then surely work continues, as would work on external orders - but never mind the Locos Keeping upto the Rolling stock must also be a ' Forth bridge like enterprise and im sure the opportunity to get ahead on Cleaning/ maintenence/ overhaul/painting will be put to good use...

More dual braked locomotives would be a good incentive.

Apart from Carnforth locomotives and those belonging to the NRM (authenticity and all that), most locomotives on the main line are dual braked. It's the rolling stock that's the problem, imo.

Think you're right Mr Al. This along with Electric Heating - and / or at least some means of keeping windows clear should be the Holy Grail of Railtour stock perhaps with a converted Suburban (Gricer class) at either end... ( max no of doors to hang out of... locked of course)
