    Another overcast day on the S+C as BR Standard No. 70000 'Britannia' works the northbound 'Fellsman' away from Lunds Viaduct to Carlisle reported later to
    be suffering problems.

    In a touching tribute to yesterday's sad occurrence, Britannia's whistle chimed out over the fell from the time it reached the south end of Garsdale Station almost until it was on the mire bridge.

    Highly unlikely to be a hot axlebox. BR Standards have roller bearings throughout, and any failure of those is likely to be more destructive than the damage suffered with plain bearings overheating.

    I have heard that the issue with the Brit was "big end issues".

Whoa, keep away from the keyboard, Just Oswald being silly! No such website and no such cylinder, but with a little more believable content and posted on my Facebook page (I haven’t got one) then . . . .?
