Well I can think of a railway in the west midlands that could provide work for 4953 Dont know if they would want another overhaul to do although it would be a homecoming for 4141 and a type not only protypical but useful!

4141? For sale? Please wait, I have not won the lottery yet. This is the only steam locomotive that I can remember from the "first time round" probably because of its number, which is relatively easy to remember! 4141 was a stalwart of the Kingham Branch and the Honeybourne Line (now the Glos Warks Rly of course) in BR days and I want it back where it belongs. Oh well, the rumour is probably not true anyway.

If you read that properly it says "tenders for overhaul or joint renewal project (4141)" therefore not for sale.
4953 "available ticketed for mainline & galas" ie hire.
Although he is selling his SR stream crane and a double bogie water tank! :)

Gone to Plym Valley, presumably looking to use the funds from the sales towards 4141' & 4953's upkeep.

Makes you wonder why he hasn't tried to sell 4121 in that case.

I suspect it might if the price was right - the Dinmore Manor Fund are after another loco, for example, the GWR haven't got a large prairie, nor do the SDR, who also wanted asomething a bit smaller than their 2-8-0 I seem to recall. Then there are the new generation lines.... Mr. Rippingale found buyers for his engines as well.
