A friend at work has a mug company who own the right to print os maps and currently supply many premier league football clubs who obviously have their stadium printer with club badge. But the interesting conversationi had with him was about doing one on places such as crewe works, derby works, etc etc. They have the rights to maps from the 1950/60s which woul be the ones used. Then it would have a totem in what ever regions colours with said location written on. I still havent got around to seeing what interest there may be but I think they could be a popular mug!

or free tea for the day...

would go down great at one of these January Galas.

If you wanted a memento why not a footplate enamel mug, rather than the usual ceramic ones.

I like this idea of free tea for a day, sounds a brilliant money spinner - I'd pay for it!

Our supplier (and a couple of others I've used locally) can do one-offs for the same price

Thanks Anthony. I have an idea for a mug, which if I can get made in small quantities I could happily order a few of to test the market.

Yes, I used to collect a WSR free tea mug each year;I've heard of them being sold on ebay for silly prices like £30 so maybe I'm a rich man! The WSR and its supporters do a lot of nice mugs - stations like Blue Anchor, and a set of loco mugs in china. The Braunton loco one is my favourite, which I insist on washing up by hand rather than risking the dishwasher. Must get a life ...
