    ""Invicta" ran on the Canterbury and Whitstable Raiilway and then was "refurbished" a couple of times and sat outside Canterbury City Walls for many years.     Michael Bailey authored a work reviewing the surviving pre 1850's locomotives and replicas based on them which I would recommend to anyone interested in the era: 'Loco Motion: The World's Oldest Steam Locomotives' ( History Press 2014 ). It covers locomotives outside the British Isles in addition to the home based ones.
